American Olympics sprint star Fred Kerley was reportedly tasered before being arrested and charged with battery on a police officer in Miami early on Friday.
Miami Beach police officers told WSVN that Kerley, who won 100m bronze at last year’s Olympics in Paris, approached an active police scene to discuss his vehicle, which was parked nearby.
It’s claimed the 29-year-old then became increasingly aggressive and would not move on when asked to by the officers.
Kerley, who starred in both seasons of Netflix’s athletics docuseries ‘Sprint’ last year, then allegedly got into a ‘fighting stance’ and continued to ignore the officers, who called for back up.
Kerley then resisted arrest and had to be tasered as a result but was then taken into custody with no further issue.
Footage obtained by WSVN show officers picking a handcuffed Kerley up off the ground before marching him down the street.
