On video: Fortune teller tells Kate Middleton she’ll wed William 

Video footage of the moment that a fortune teller told Kate Middleton she would marry Prince William during a school play has emerged. 

The prophetic moment sees the Duchess of Cambridge, currently pregnant with the couple’s third child, performing in a school play – and being told she was certain to wed the future king.  

Rare footage from the production, which stars Miss Middleton when she was 13 and attending St Andrew’s Preparatory School in Buckhold, sees Kate playing the lead in the Victorian melodrama Murder in the Red Barn, during which William the caddish Squire proposes to her.

Earlier in the play, a fortune-teller studies her palm and tells her: ‘Soon you will meet a handsome man, a rich gentleman…’

An excited Miss Middleton, wearing a flowing white gown with black lace detail for the part, says: ‘It is all I have ever hoped for. Will he fall in love with me?’

The fortune-teller replies: ‘Indeed he will.’

Miss Middleton asks ‘And marry me?’

He confirms ‘And marry you.’

She then asks, ‘Will he take me away from here?’

TheVictorian melodrama Murder in the Red Barn was staged by pupils at StAndrews prep school in the village of Buckhold near Pangbourne, Reading.

Thefootage was posted on the internet after being used in a Germandocumentary about the real-life romance between Miss Middleton andPrince William.

Former classmate Kingsley Glover, 27, who starred as William in the play, said when the video first surfaced nine years ago: ‘It was great fun to do.’
