One Born Every Minute star Chris Stojanovski dies after cancer battle – as a fundraiser is set up to support his newborn daughter and widow Maya

Chris Stojanovski, star of reality series One Born Every Minute, lost his battle with cancer on November 15, aged 41.

He appeared alongside wife Maya on the program, tracking the birth of their daughter Ruby in July.

Chris had suffered from a uveal melanoma in his eye, which led to the eye being removed.

The couple first learned of the diagnosis when Maya was around 20 weeks pregnant with their daughter.

Just a year later, he learned that the cancer had spread to his liver, leading to a surgery which removed 30 percent of his liver.

Chris said during an episode of One Born Every Minute: ‘There was always a risk of it coming back. I didn’t think it would come back so quickly.’

‘I think it definitely brought us closer as a couple,’ he added, calling wife Maya his ‘rock’.

However, in mid November Chris lost his battle with cancer, leaving his beloved wife and newborn daughter behind.

A GoFundMe has been established for the widow and her new baby, and so far, it has raised $47,440 of the $10,000 goal.

The page shows touching photos of Chris with his daughter, and explains: ‘On 15 November 2019, at 8.16am, we tragically lost our precious Chris to Melanoma at the tender age of 41.

‘Chris was a beautiful human, the kind that touches your heart and stays in it forever. To his work family he was affectionately known as “Stoj” and we will miss him terribly.

‘To his beautiful baby girl Ruby he was her Tato (dad), and to Maya, the love of her life. Those who knew Chris will know, that all he would want, in this world, is the very best for his beautiful wife and daughter.

‘We have set up this page as a trust for Ruby, as our way of giving back to Chris, in the only way we can now, by making sure Ruby grows up knowing how loved, respected and treasured her dad was and will always be.

‘Forever in our hearts, Chris will never be forgotten.’
