Tim Wickham, who owns Calala Island, says holidaymakers are in for a real treat.

He explains: ‘Calala Island was historically a pirate’s playground, so participants of the trip will be invited to step back in time and embark on a specially curated treasure hunt.

‘With a hidden treasure chest containing gold bars and coins worth at least $150,000, the stakes are certainly high.’

In a bid to give back to local communities, $100,000 of the $1 million price tag will be donated towards building a new school close to Calala Island, which will be named after the lead guest.
