OnlyFans star Hayley Vernon weighs in on the influencer crypto rort

OnlyFans stars are known for cashing in on their thirsty followers’ darkest desires.

But several of the adult subscription platform’s biggest money-makers have changed tactics this week, with Married At First Sight’s Hayley Vernon the latest to weigh in on the influx of clueless influencers promoting cryptocurrency.

A day after several influencers encouraged their fans to buy a new cryptocurrency called Hush coin, Hayley shared a screenshot showing an alarming crash in the currency’s price chart, alongside a stern warning.

Crypto rort: Hayley Vernon became the latest OnlyFans star to weigh in on the great influencer cryptocurrency rort on Thursday, a day after fellow adult star Vanessa Sierra did the same

‘Don’t ever take financial advice from your favorite influencer – a lot of people preyed on their followers last night,’ she wrote in a caption.

In her screenshot of the Hush coin price chart, Hayley pointed out exactly when influencers began to promote the stock, before rapidly selling it as the price soared.

She then highlighted how the sell-off triggered a rapid drop in the price, meaning many of the influencers’ fans woke up to discover they’d lost most of their investment.

Hayley described the phenomenon as a ‘pump-and-dump scheme’, a term which refers to clued-in investors preying on their fanbase to make a quick buck.

The Married At First Sight star is no stranger to making a quick buck on the adult subscription site OnlyFans, but at least the price is fixed and transparent. It comes a day after one of her contemporaries, Vanessa Sierra, shared a similar warning about crypto rorts.

However, at least the price is fixed and transparent, providing a sense of consistency for their subscribers.

‘I’m sorry but I’m disgusted in the lack of morality and really want to warn people about investing in crypto when influencers are clearly being paid to promote it,’ the Love Island star wrote on Wednesday.

‘If someone is genuinely educated about crypts, they would post and talk a lot more in detail about blockchain rather than posting a “tip” with absolutely zero background Information.

‘I post because I’ve been into crypto since I was 12 years old and do hours of reading a day. And I still don’t consider myself that knowledgeable.’

Vanessa said influencers promoting crypto are ‘money hungry’ and have ‘zero education or knowledge about how blockchain even works’.

Turning on her cohorts, she urged fans not to be fooled by the claims influencers make, to do their research and to stay away from new currencies.

Vanessa spoke to Channel Nine’s 60 Minutes in April about her earnings as an OnlyFans model and her relationship with tennis star Bernard Tomic.

Her page on the website largely consists of softcore nude photos and ‘naughty DMs’ she privately sends paying subscribers at their request.

‘I won’t get into exact numbers, but if I wanted to retire today I could do so comfortably,’ she said. ‘I really don’t want to go into exact figures but I’ve earned over $1 million.’
