The Optus hacker has reportedly released more than 10,000 customer records and could release even more unless the company gives in to a $1million ransom demand. 

The hacker says unless the ransom demand is met, 10,000 records will be released every day over four days. 

It is estimated 9.8 million current and former customers have been compromised by the breach.

It also is understood that Medicare numbers may be exposed for some as well with the government calling the incident a major corporate failure.
