Orangutan uses a straw to clean her ears and belly button

Orangutans share 97 percent of their DNA sequence with humans.

This one certainly appeared very human while using a straw to clean her ears and belly button.  

The footage, shot on 11 October at Dudley Zoo, shows Sprout using both her fingers and the straw stalk to get herself clean.

Keepers at the zoo described six-year-old Sprout’s antics as a ‘beauty day’. 

Sprout’s profile on the zoo’s website reads: ‘Hello my name is Sprout and I am a female Bornean orangutan. 

‘Sprout was a nickname my keepers gave me initially but it seems to have stuck! I am very playful and love swinging on the ropes in our den!’
