- Traeshon Holden was ejected for spitting on the Buckeyes’ Davison Igbinosun
Oregon wideout Traeshon Holden was ejected for spitting on an Ohio State player during Saturday’s highly anticipated matchup between the No. 3 Ducks and No. 2 Buckeyes.
Holden was seen spitting on cornerback Davison Igbinosun facemask after being targeted by Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
There appeared to be some contact between Igbinosun and Holden, which prevented the Ducks receiver from making the play. The two continued chirping afterwards, which is when Holden appeared to spit on Igbinosun.
Holden was promptly ejected and escorted off the field, where he was seen throwing his helmet in disgust.
The unsportsmanlike penalty proved costly for the Ducks, who were sent back 15 yards. Oregon settled for a field goal as a result to take a 15-14 lead before going on to pull out a narrow 32-31 victory over previously undefeated Ohio State.

Just two plays earlier, Holden hauled in a 32-yard pass to move the Ducks around midfield.
Never a forgiving bunch, college football fans were furious over the incident.
‘I’m going to lose my parlay over spitting,’ one angry X user wrote
‘Play stupid games, win stupid prizes,’ another added. ‘What were you thinking Holden?’
Some fans were even OK with the shoving, but drew the line at spitting.
‘That’s awful,’ wrote on person. ‘Talk and push, don’t spit on someone. This dude has some serious discipline issues, to do this in the biggest game of your life is ridiculous.’
A Kissimmee, Florida native, Holden previously played at Alabama before transferring to Oregon.
Over three seasons with the Tide, Holden recorded 25 receptions for 570 yards and seven touchdowns.
He was briefly kicked off the Ducks after the 2022 season after he was arrested in Eugene on allegations of unlawful use of a weapon and coercion charges.
Holden was later cleared of all charges.
