Organised mother-of-three impresses the internet with her list of dinners for the YEAR

A supremely organised mother-of-three has shared a very detailed schedule of every dinner she will cook for her family for the entire year.

The Queensland woman decided to keep her home in order by planning out all her meals and even household chores to a tee for the next 12 months.

Her home cooked meal plan included lamb chops, burgers, chicken curry, ravioli, stir fry, roast pork, stroganoff, ribs, casserole, sausages with vegetables and more.

Besides each dinner, the woman listed a chore, which includes a particular room to clean and tidy or a task to complete on that allocated day.

The working mother only shared pictures showing from January to June – but said she intended to repeat the first six months over the second half of the year.

‘I wanted to share some things that have made the start of my year a little easier,’ the mother said in a Facebook group.

‘One – a dinner plan for the whole year… Two – an area to clean or tidy each day (larger areas on my days off) and three – lunch prep.’

The mother said she had put time aside to cook up 120 lunches for her children to make busy school mornings easier.

The lunches included shepherds pie, enchiladas, spaghetti, lasagne, meatballs, butter chicken, chicken with rice and nuggets.

‘I prepped 120 meals for the freezer before school went back for my 14-year-old high school kid with access to a microwave,’ she said.

For her six-year-old child, she prepared ‘soft food and purée’, which is heated in a thermos, ready to be eaten at school.

‘Just reheat in the morning and I put boiling water in first to heat the container up and it seems to stay warmer longer,’ she said.

She said the ‘blank’ days on the schedule are dedicated to eating what’s already in the freezer, birthday celebrations or ‘wing it that week’.

Since following the plan, the impressed mother said: ‘Honestly I didn’t think it would make such a difference but wow.’

She said she found her ‘biggest stress’ during the school term was trying to figure out what to cook for dinner every night – but she will no longer have this issue.

To save time and money, she does all her grocery shop via ‘Click and Collect’.

‘As I know what I need from the meal plan so save money,’ she said.

As a working mother, she said her ‘work nights consists of meals that reheat well’ so she prepares large batches the night before.

‘And I do one big clean up and then have an easy meal to reheat and get on the table when getting home late,’ she explained.

‘Barbecue night and pizza etc on weekends when family participate. It also works on the odd occasion when hubby gets home before me and will start cooking what’s on the menu (always a bonus).’

While she has allocated a different meal to each night on her schedule, the mother said she doesn’t necessarily stick to the plan.

‘Some days I do change it and don’t follow it completely,’ she said.

‘But I normally make a more complex dinner on non-work nights and also make the next nights so only need to reheat on my work days.

‘Means one big clean up instead of two and by the time I get home, as long as the kids are fed I don’t care what I eat haha.’

Many mothers were extremely impressed with her efforts, with some suggesting they will try to do the same schedule for their family.

‘Wow. I do a weekly plan but this is phenomenal. You’ve inspired me to try something similar,’ one woman said.

Another said: ‘I plan every week depending on what my kids want or if I come across new recipes and depending on the weather. During rainy days something spicy tangy is cooked in our families. Sunny days n chilly days are different. But this is mind blowing.’

And one said: ‘That is super impressive!! Well done.’

Many asked the mother how long it took her to write out the schedule, to which she responded: ‘I actually just started writing a list of meals we usually eat and then put one in each month.

‘I adjusted winter and summer meals like barbecues to casseroles or pies. I also put reheatable meals on my work nights so I can make it the day before. It quickly filled up surprisingly.’
