She is a Dame and a world renowned actress.
But Helen Mirren proved to a worldwide audience her wide range of skills as she took to the stage for the 90th Academy Awards on Sunday evening.
The Brit legend, 72, was enlisted by show host Jimmy Kimmel for his opening , monologue at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to model a flash jet ski.
Game for a laugh: Helen Mirren proved to a worldwide audience her wide range of skills as she took to the 90th Academy Awards stage on Sunday evening
Kimmel, returning for his second year as host, encouraged nominees to give passionate speeches should they win at Sunday’s ceremony.
But he had a plan to keep to notoriously long speeches short, offering a $17,999 jet ski to the briefest speaker.
Dame Helen soon appeared on stage, demonstrating her best Price Is Right style poses to model the enviable prize.
Having changed out of her elegant, form-fitting blue gown from the red carpet, Helen literally dazzled in a sparkly number.
Nice prize! The Brit legend, 72, was enlisted by show host Jimmy Kimmel for his opening, monologue at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to model a flash jet ski
In the event of a tie, Kimmel said he’ll simply award the jet ski to Christopher Plummer.
Earlier on the red carpet, game for a laugh Helen was photographed knocking back a shot of tequila.
Kimmel had the star crowd and millions watching at home laughing with his anticipated opening monologue.
The chat show king used his platform to joke about the many men in Hollywood accused of sexual misconduct since Harvey Weinstein, by quipping about the Oscar statue: ‘He keeps his hands where you can see them and most importantly no penis.’
He added: ‘He is truly a statue of limitations.’

Kimmel also marked the incredible rise seen recently by women in the industry.
‘I remember a time when the major studios didn’t believe a woman or a minority could open a super hero movie,’ he said – referencing Israeli actress Gal Gadot who played the title role in ‘Wonder Woman’ – ‘and the reason I remember that time is because it was March of last year.’
‘The Academy as you know took lengths to expel Harvey Weinstein from their ranks,’ he said. ‘what happened with Harvey and what’s happening all over is long overdue … if we can work together to stop sexual harassment in the workplace. If we can do that, women will only have to deal with that every other place they go,’ he continued, joking.
Wow factor: Having changed out of her elegant, form-fitting blue gown from the red carpet, Helen literally dazzled in a sparkly gold leaf detail number
The late night host also took a swipe at Vice President Mike Pence, who is known for his anti-gay views.
‘We don’t make films like ‘Call Me by Your Name’ to make money. We make them to upset Mike Pence,’ Kimmel said.
Kimmel also joked about the mix-up last year that saw Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty accidentally announced ‘La La Land’ instead of ‘Moonlight’ as Best Picture.
Some of you will be going home tonight with an Academy Award. This year, when you hear your name called. Don’t get up right away,’ he joked.
‘What happened last year was unfortunate,’ Kimmel continued, explaining that last year, the Oscar producers wanted him to do a comedy bit with the Price Waterhouse accountants. ‘I said, ‘No, I don’t want to do comedy with the accountants.’ And then the accountants went and did comedy on their own.’
