Out of control car careers into pedestrians

Two pedestrians have been run over by an out of control car.

They were knocked down in Darlington, Sydney after two cars crashed, forcing one on to the pavement at 12.20pm.

Six ambulance crews rushed to the scene and are now treating three people at the roadside.

New South Wales police said in a statement: ‘Police are on the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Darlington this afternoon.

‘Just after 12.30pm, emergency services were called to the corner of Lawson and Abercrombie streets, following reports two cars had collided.

‘As a result of the crash, one of the cars has mounted the kerb and struck two pedestrians.

‘They suffered non-life-threatening injuries and will be taken to hospital.

‘The drivers suffered minor injuries. Their ages and genders are not known at this stage.

‘Officers from Redfern Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

‘The incident is not being treated as a deliberate act.’
