Packers QB Jordan Love admits 49ers loss ‘will sting for a while’ after excellent season ends with narrow three-point loss and a terrible interception in the final moments

Packers quarterback Jordan Love commented on the terrible interception that he through to close out Green Bay’s 24-21 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Love broke rule No .1 for quarterbacks on the Packers final play of the game with less than a minute left on the clock when he threw a ball deep down field and across his body that was intercepted to cement Green Bay’s loss.

‘Play broke down I was scrambling right,’ Love began his response to a question about the play. ‘Saw Christian [Watkins] over the middle and, you know, tried to force one in to him.

‘Thought I could make the play. Didn’t see the backside so they made a great play.’

Love when then asked about several other throws that the offense did not connect on that potentially could have turned into huge game changing plays.

‘The one to Tucker [Kraft], ya know I missed it. I was a little bit behind him,’ said Love. ‘He was running a crossing route and obviously it got tipped up, picked.

‘The one to Aaron [Jones] was kind of off schedule. You know he stayed on the move, and we just weren’t on the same page there. Missed that one as well.

‘It will sting for a while, watching all the games going forward. It will sting, knowing we had an opportunity to win and we dropped the ball on that one. It will sting for a while.’

The 25-year-old QB and the rest of the players on the field had to deal with downpouring rain throughout the evening which also came up during his post-game press conference.

‘It was obviously raining a good amount, it’s a challenge that presents itself. But I don’t think it was affecting too much in the passing game.’

Love had fought through the rain in order to connect with Kraft and wide receiver Bo Melton for his two touchdowns on the evening.
