Paddy McGuinness is ‘stronger’ after three stone weight gain

‘I felt fit, but looked ill’: Paddy McGuinness says he’s ‘stronger’ after gaining three stone… but jokes that ‘none of his suits fit anymore’

Paddy McGuinness has showcased his three stone weight gain in a before and after Instagram snap posted on Thursday.

The presenter, 46, put up two side by side shots taken a year apart that compared his face, admitting while he ‘felt fit’ when he dropped down to 12 stone he ‘looked ill’.

The Take Me Out Host told his followers he ‘definitely feels better’ at 15 stone, but joked that his suits no longer fit.

Paddy wrote: ‘Look at the difference! I definitely feel better with a bit of weight on me. There’s 12 months between these pics.

‘I stripped right back to 12 stone, felt fit but looked ill. I’m now 15 stone and feeling stronger, having said that none of my suits fit me anymore!!! #weightloss #weightgain #beforeandafter #thin #curvy’

In January 2018, the television star showcased his initial weight loss on Instagram with another before and after snap.

Paddy’s transformation comes as his long standing ITV dating show, Take Me Out, has been axed after 11 series.

This comes as bosses believe the programme had ‘run its course’ after airing for nine years.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed the news to The Sun, saying: ‘We’ve decided to say goodbye to Take Me Out.’

A TV source said: ‘ITV and Paddy have done all the specials you can eke out of a dating show, so it’s been decided it’s time for it to go.’

‘As with many shows, ratings have slid a bit in recent years. But it will go down as a big success — it’s had more weddings than Blind Date.’

While Take Me Out may be leaving the small screen, Paddy will be kept busy with co-hosting Top Gear.

It was recently revealed the motoring show, which Paddy co-hosts with Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris, is moving to BBC One.

The BBC Two show’s possible move to the flagship channel emerged earlier this month, but was said not to have been finalised.

The show, originally resurrected with Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc, will air on BBC One with its 29th series later this year.

It follows in the footsteps of Peaky Blinders and Line Of Duty, which have also moved to BBC One.
