Golf influencer Paige Spiranac has shared the one thing that aspiring players can do to improve their game.

Spiranac, who boasts nearly 4million followers on Instagram, spent a year as a pro golfer before building a massive brand on social media.

But the 30-year-old still hits the course frequently and shared with her followers the ‘fastest and quickest way’ to get better.

‘It honestly does not matter what your handicap is,’ she said in a video posted to X. ‘The fastest and quickest way to get better at golf is to work on your short game. You need to be absolutely dialed 100 yards and in. Work on your chipping, work on your wedge game, work on your sand shots and especially on your putting.

‘Most people don’t realize how long pros actually work on their short game. I’m talking hours and hours and hours dedicated, and I know we can’t do that. We don’t have the time or the patience honestly. But dedicating at least 25 minutes in your practice schedule to short game will be life-changing.’

She continued, ‘And another benefit to having a good short game is it takes the pressure off of your full swing. And once you take the pressure off of your full swing, and because golf is so mental, you’re gonna free yourself up and hit more fairways and more greens.’

Although she is no longer a professional, Spiranac said in the video that she is a scratch golfer.

She admitted last year to being ‘mentally exhausted’ before ending her playing career.

However, she’s since become one of the most famous influencers in the sport, and this week teased a ‘legendary’ collaboration with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.

SI Swimsuit is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary later this year, with a special ‘Legends’ photoshoot already lined up, though it’s unclear if Spiranac will be involved in that shoot or a separate one.

Speaking about the end of her pro career last year, she said, ‘Instead of sitting down and feeling sorry for myself, I picked myself back up and threw myself into my media work.

‘My background of just grinding, hard work has really helped me in my media career, because I work so incredibly hard.

‘And the difference is here, the harder I work, the more successful I’ve become and I think that’s why it’s been a more fulfilling journey for me than professional golf… the outcome is positive.’
