The iconic marquee sign at the Palms with 14 foot high lettering has come down outside the 17-year-old resort in Las Vegas.
In a sign of the times, the Palms is going digital with their once familiar marquee.
The marquee will be fully replaced into a digital message board as part of a property wide $485 million renovation project at the Palms.

The letters, one-by-one were removed from the iconic marquee on Tuesday to make way for an all digital board

The enormous letting spelling PALMS was removed Tuesday with a 120-foot crane.
The all-digital version is expected to go live later this year and will announce upcoming events.
Th property was purchased in 2016 by Station Casinos parent company Red Rock Resorts Inc, according to the Las Vegas Sun.
The renovation is also including recently open eateries A.Y.C.E. Buffet and the Lucky Penny Café.

The Palms is also working on refreshing the Pearl Concert Theater.
They are also adding new nightlife options, with the APEX Social Club going in the space that formerly housed Ghostbar and the Camden Cocktail Lounge.
Meanwhile a new center bar and high-limit gaming area also are coming.
