Paloma Faith is to raise her kids as gender neutral

She still has not disclosed the name and sex of her baby since giving birth on December 5 last year.

And Paloma Faith has revealed that she and her French boyfriend Leyman Lahcine are raising their child as gender neutral.

The 36-year-old, who was speaking at the Q Awards last week, told the Mirror: ‘I love being a mum’.

She continued: ‘I want two or three kids in all and they’ll be gender neutral.’

The singer has refused to dress her child in pink and blue gender identity colors, revealing that her decision was inspired by her belief in gender equality.

She stated: ‘I just want them to be who they want to be.’

The Only Love Can Hurt Like This songstress marched in the International Women’s Day in London back in 2015, advocating for equality and speaking out about her strong feminist beliefs.

Paloma has also made it known that she supports gay rights.

She is not the only star to raise their child as gender neutral; last year Russell Brand revealed that he and his wife Laura Gallacher refuse to impose a gender identity on their daughter Mabel.

The singer didn’t disappoint as she attended the Awards ceremony at the Camden Roundhouse in London.

Paloma showcased her slender physique in an offbeat striped jumpsuit at the event, though her facial accessory would no doubt have captured the most attention.

Drawing attention to her slender frame, the design also boasted a flattering belt detail across the waist.

But her show-stopping look would no doubt have been vying against the unconventional gold lip ring she sported.

While the chart-topper goes to great lengths to keep her personal life private, she did open up about her difficult birth shortly after bringing her little one into the world.

The Stone Cold Sober singer revealed ‘[Before I said] “I’m going to do hypnobirthing, no drugs, be this perfect Earth Mother” and then everything that could go wrong went wrong and I had all the drugs imaginable and 20 hours of labour and an emergency Cesarean and a premature baby.

‘So as I said, I went to Hell. It’s the absolute most incredible thing that’s ever happened to me…

‘It’s just like nothing prepares you for it and you enter into this secret club with other parents… Now I finally feel part of something having been an outsider for my entire life.’
