Pamella Roland celebrates 20 year anniversary with star-studded New York Fashion Week runway show

World renowned American designer Pamella Roland showed her 20th anniversary collection on Monday, September 12 during New York Fashion Week.

The celebratory event took place at 160 Varick Street located on the border of Greenwich Village. 

To mark two decades in the business and in New York City, Pamella’s spring/summer 23 presentation was a party, made complete with a stunning collection of special occasion garments and a playlist the crowd couldn’t help but sing along to.

Captivated by the magic of New York City, the spring line includes dramatic capes, bold colors and show-stopping ballgowns – that reflect the brand’s identity Pamella’s honed over two decades.

Feathers, luxe fabrications, and intricate hand embroideries are found throughout, with a silver-draped fringe gown being the hero piece of the season.

The designer told the Daily Mail backstage that she never dreamed she’d be celebrating a 20th anniversary.

‘I didn’t know if I would make it two years,’ Pamella joked. ‘I was here checking everything out during 911, so this is a party for our anniversary and New York.’

The designer is most proud of the quality, craftsmanship and pursuit of perfection in her formal wear.

‘I started with sportswear but my collections have become mostly gowns and cocktail dresses, and some suiting. We know how to make great gowns,’ she admits. 

‘Actresses will tell us all the time that we have the best corsets because you can wear them comfortably all day.’

‘I have come a long way and I’ve learned a lot. It took a process of trial and error to identify what works and what doesn’t,’ said Pamella

On this milestone anniversary, Pamella isn’t taking anything for granted.

‘As I take a moment to look back and reflect, I’m filled with such an overwhelming sense of emotion and gratitude.’

She expresses gratitude for her family but also for her clients – some of which she’s had from the beginning. 

‘We have had the great honor of dressing the most talented, diverse, and accomplished group of women – from celebrities to royals. But the ones I treasure the most are my customers – amazing women who have given life to my designs.’

Giving life to her designs on Monday afternoon were a bevy of Hollywood beauties.

Actress Vanessa Williams and dancer Julianne Hough opted for smart suiting. 

Vanessa wore a custom powder blue suit, featuring a double-breasted blazer jacket with flared cuff sleeves and embellished detailing and flared trousers.
