This is the heartwarming moment an adorable panda cub tries to wake up his sleeping friends to play – but they continue their slumber.
The 30-second clip was posted to the iPanda YouTube channel, which publishes ‘random cute and funny moments of pandas’,on 15 December.
It has since been viewed nearly 1,500 times.
The footage appears to have been shot at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan, China.
Founded in 1987, it is a non-profit research and breeding facility for giant pandas and other rare animals.

At one point, the cuddly creature repeatedly prods one of his friends in the stomach with both paws, urging them to come and play.

The clip ends with him seemingly accepting defeat as his two friends continue their peaceful slumber in the enclosure
Struggling back to his feet by unceremoniously pushing down on his friend for balance, the lively creature then begins swinging off what appears to be a water holder fixed to the cage bars.
In a final attempt to rouse his friends, the cheeky panda gently pummels the pair with his soft paws.
The clip ends with him seemingly accepting defeat, turning his back on them and continuing to amuse himself with the water holder.
