Paper Dolls star Emalia poses at NBL match between Sydney Kings and Melbourne United

Emalia, one of the breakout stars from the hit TV series Paper Dolls, was posing up a storm on Thursday.

The Australian actor and RnB artist, 26, was spotted at the round 14 NBL match between the Sydney Kings and Melbourne at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

Sitting in the VIP ‘Pumped by Reebok’ seat close to the basketball court, Emalia posed for several photos.

She was casual and comfortable at the game, wearing loose-fitting blue jeans, an oversized black T-shirt, and white sneakers.

Her dark hair was worn up, with two strands of fringe framing her face, as she worked her angles.

Emalia, a relative newcomer to the entertainment industry, has not been shy about her views on the business.

Recognised as a potential breakout sensation for her role as Izzy James in Paper Dolls, this singer and actor has spoken candidly about her experience with fame.

Last month, she told The Daily Telegraph that becoming a star is not all it is cracked up to be.

‘From the outside, fame can look so shiny and nice and appealing but there can be a lot of abuse of power,’ she said.

‘A lot of that is hidden and people don’t necessarily get to see how it affects the artists that are going through it,’ the performer added.

Emalia, known solely by her first name, hails from Bowral and spent her formative years around Wollongong.

The actor also has a parallel career as a singer, with her recent single ‘Stacks’, dropping last year.

Starring Miah Madden, Courtney Monsma, Naomi Sequeira, and Courtney Clarke, the show is set in the early 2000s and follows a fictional girl group named Harlow.

Paper Dolls is spearheaded by former Bardot singer Belinda Chapple as its executive producer.

Loosely based on the ascent and decline of the Australian pop group, the show draws inspiration from the group’s success, notably their massive hit Poison, which served as a launching pad for Sophie Monk’s career.
