A woman has been killed in a car crash that has left nine other people, including five children, injured on an outback road in the Northern Territory.
The two-car smash occurred near Papunya, about 240 kilometres northwest of Alice Springs, on the Newhaven access road just after 1pm on Friday.
The woman died at the scene while nine others were treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Among the other passengers injured included five children aged between five and 10-years-old.
NT Police said a crime scene has been established and inquiries are continuing.
There have now been 43 lives lost on roads in the territory this year.
