A paramedic from Queensland has gone viral, after he posted an emotional plea for marriage equality in Australia on Facebook.
Michael Slicker – who works as a paramedic for St John’s Ambulance Australia – posted his message after a postal plebiscite to vote on marriage equality was confirmed by the Government.
‘Let’s put this into perspective,’ Michael began the post. ‘You will let me into your house at any hour of the day.

‘You will throw your sick child into my arms and beg me to help.

‘So who are you to say that I am less of a person and don’t deserve equal treatment in the eyes of the law because I love a man…,’ he continued.
The impassioned man went on to say that ‘I cry when I’m sad, I smile when I’m happy. We are exactly the same, Love is Love.’
He concluded the post by writing: ‘So please vote yes. It will make zero impact on your life but will change mine forever.’
