‘Parsons Green bucket bomb copycat terror plot’ exposed after landlord evicts tenants for late rent

A ‘Parsons Green bucket bomb copycat terror plot’ was exposed after a landlord evicted two tenants for late rent then found a cache of suspicious materials.

The landlord discovered a bucket with plastic containers taped to the sides, electrical tools, cables and images of assault rifles when going through the home.

He took photos on his mobile phone as evidence and quickly called officials to the residence in Whitefield, Bury, Greater Manchester.

Police arrested Hisham Mohammad, 24, and Faisal Ahmad, 23, in relation to the suspicious materials on June 4.

A source told the Sun: ‘The lads hadn’t paid any rent for a few months, so the landlord turned up and had a look around to see if there was any damage.

‘They were begging the landlord to let them stay for just two more weeks, then they said they would leave.

‘A few days later the landlord came back, saw what was inside, took some photos on his phone and went straight to the police.’

Officials believe the materials found in the home were going to be used to copycat the Parsons Green attempted bombing of last September.

When going through the home, police found axes, knives, bear-claws and extremist material supporting the Islamic State on electronic devices, the Sun reported.
