And love was in the air on board the Air New Zealand flight, with the pair now set to go on a date.

The woman launched a quest to find the ‘tall, dark and handsome’ stranger who chatted to her on flight NZ0441 from Auckland to Wellington.

All going well, the pair in seats 17B and 17C could be walking down another aisle in a few years – with the mystery hunk revealing that he’s keen to see her again.

The woman’s sister, who was also on the flight with her baby, contacted the NZ Herald  asking for help to find the mystery man.

She said: ‘Everyone loves a love story, and we were hoping this could be the start of a Christmas romance.’

They were in luck, with the man getting in touch with the newspaper via the airline.

‘I really enjoyed meeting the two lovely sisters,’ he told the NZ Herald.

‘They seemed sweet and caring.’

The pair are both from the town of Ponsonby and plan to meet up for a wander around soon.
