Movie World said in a statement the riders were stuck upside down for a total of three minutes and 25 seconds as a result of ‘ride safety operating systems’ automatically engaging, 9news reports.

‘We are very sorry for any inconvenience or discomfort caused to our guests, however ride safety is our first priority,’ the statement read.

No passengers were injured in the incident, however witnesses said some were ‘crying, shaken up and red faced’.

The Doomsday Destroyer opened at Movie World late last year and rotates at 360-degrees at high speed.
