Pat McAfee calls WWE star Braun Strowman a ‘big white son of a b***h’ the same day he issued groveling apology for Caitlin Clark controversy

A few hours after Pat McAfee issued an apology for calling WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark a ‘white b***h,’ he seemed to make light of the controversy during the WWE Monday Night Raw broadcast.

The NFL punter turned shock jock provided commentary on the wrestling broadcast, and was heard calling Braun Strowman ‘one big white son of a b***h’ as he walked towards the ring.

The WWE star even leaned into it by rocking a ‘One Big S.O.B.’ tank top at Giant Center in Pennsylvania.

McAfee came under fire earlier in the day for using disparaging language while going on a bizarre rant defending Clark, after she was bodychecked by Chicago Sky player, Chennedy Carter.

He claimed the Indiana Fever star was being targeted because she stood out from the rest of the group of 2024 rookies, including Cameron Brink and Angel Reese.

‘I’m not going to say anything about the athletes on the court. Athletes are going to be athletes, if they think they can get in your head by bodying you or talking s–t, they’re going to do what they’re going to do,’ McAfee said on Monday’s episode of his ESPN show.

‘I would like the media people that continue to say “this rookie class, this rookie class, this rookie class” – no, just call it for what it is. There’s one white b**** for the Indiana team who is a superstar and is it because she stayed at Iowa, put an entire state on her back, took a program from nothing to a multiple-year success story?’ he went on.

‘Instead we have to hear people say that we only like her because she’s white and she’s only popular because the rest of the rookie class is doing what they’re doing/ Well that’s a bunch of bulls*** and we think the WNBA, and more specifically their referees, need to stop trying to screw her over at every single turn.’

McAfee later revealed he apologized to Clark for calling her a ‘b***h’ and she was ‘all good’

McAfee issued an apology for his description of the No 1 draft pick on social media later that day.

He also clarified on Tuesday’s episode of his show that he apologized to Clark and she was ‘all good’ with it.

‘Obviously that’s a massive f–k-up on my end. I apologize for that,’ McAfee said.

‘I did reach out to Caitlin Clark through the Fever (public relations), sent an apology and then got a message back that she said it was all good. No blood. We move forward,’ he recalled.

‘And she appreciates us reaching out and apologizing. So that obviously makes me feel a little bit better. But to the people that got pissed off yesterday and offended, I understand. I learned a lot.’
