Patricia Arquette made a political statement as she held onto a ‘bans off our bodies’ clutch at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on Monday evening.

As she arrived to the red carpet linking arms with her longtime boyfriend Eric White, the 54-year-old Boyhood star looked absolutely incredible in a plunging black gown and diamond stud earrings as she subtly rallied for abortion rights after Roe v. Wade was overturned three months ago.

Her handsome partner, who she first sparked dating rumors with back in 2014, looked dapper in a navy tuxedo, white dress shirt and a black bow tie.

On June 24, after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the constitutional right to an abortion, the True Romance actress tweeted that the reversing the five-decade-old decision was an ‘an absolute disaster.’

‘From giving people the right to carry guns to taking away Womens rights of autonomy over their own bodies. We weren’t being reactive we saw it coming,’ she wrote on Twitter.

During a recent interview with The New Yorker ahead of the ruling, the Severance actress reflected on how ‘all the same people who’ve been discriminated against historically are still being discriminated against.’

‘L.G.B.T. people are getting their rights pulled away, and Black people are getting voting rights taken away. Clinics are drying up in predominantly Black neighborhoods. And women’s rights, for sure,’ she continued.

The Oscar and Emmy-winning actress, who has previously used her acceptance speeches at award shows to advocate for equal pay and universal rights, has even appeared in front of Congress to show support for the Equal Rights Amendment back in 2019.

The performer cited ‘a groundswell in this country’ to institute the amendment, which places legal protections for women against discrimination on account of gender.

‘Women are rising up by the millions and saying they will not be sexually assaulted, they will not be paid less, they will not be treated as subhuman and they will have their voices heard,’ said the actress, according to the Huffington Post.

Arquette famously gave a powerful Oscar acceptance speech calling for equal pay for women back in 2015.

‘To every woman who gave birth, to every taxpayer of this nation. It’s our time to have wage equality once and for all in the United States of America,’ she told the audience while accepting the trophy for Best Supporting Actress.

Her speech had received raucous applause, in particular from fellow Oscar winner Meryl Streep, who punched the air and shouted ‘yes!’ while Jennifer Lopez clapped enthusiastically.
