The girlfriend of black New England Patriots player Obi Melifonwu has revealed that she has quit her job after being called ‘unclean’ by bosses because she dates black men. 

Alyssa Okada, 24, took to Instagram on Thursday to explain to fans why she had quit her job at Platinum Fitness in Fort Myers, Florida. 

She said she had been told by others at the gym that the CEO and another man made racist remarks about her relationship with Melifonwu, 25, when she joined.

She also posted a screenshot of the Facebook conversation that they had on her own page in which one of the men, who she did not name, said: ‘She’s [qualified] but she dates black men.’ 

The other replied ‘unclean’ and the originator responded with ‘lol’. 

Okada slammed the men and, in a series of Instagram stories, said they had since tried to apologize for the remarks and dismiss them as a mistake. 

‘It’s not a f****** mistake. This is how you feel, this is how you think. You’re just sorry you got caught,’ she said.

The fitness trainer did not reveal the men's names but now the gym's clients are boycotting it

‘If someone says something that s flat out f*****g wrong, stop making excuses for them.

‘It’s done,’ she fumed.  

She was inundated with support from Facebook and Instagram followers, many of whom were clients of the gym who have now vowed to leave because of it. 

The gym did not reply to DailyMail.com’s inquiries on Thursday afternoon, nor did Melifonwu. 

The English footballer joined the Patriots in November last year. He was drafted in 2017 and originally played for the Oakland Raiders. 

He did not offer a comment when approached by DailyMail.com on Thursday.
