14:05 – Hitman

He needed the run at Cheltenham last month after his latest wind op and has come on nicely for the outing so I’m hopeful he can pick up some place money before another crack at the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham.

15:50 – Makin’yourmindup

He progressed nicely last season, winning three times over hurdles and I’ve always felt that fences would bring out the best in him. He’s run all right in both his starts over fences and we think he will be happier racing left-handed at Newbury. He’s fresh and well and should run tidily.

16:25 – Histrionic

He’s an interesting long-term project who impressed in winning his maiden Point-to-Point in Ireland last April and ran with great promise on his debut for us when third in a bumper at this track in November. I felt he just needed the race that day, perhaps wasn’t quite ready. He has improved since then and should be competitive in this. I can’t wait to see him over hurdles next season.

16:25 – Roman Roy

I was pleased with his racecourse debut at Wincanton in November when he was only just denied in a tight finish. The form of that race is working out but he wouldn’t want the ground at Newbury to get too deep. Warwick

15:30 – Diego du Charmil

It’s great to seem Diego back on a racecourse after an absence of 649 days with a leg injury. Although we have done plenty with him at home and he has had an away day with Lalor I’d say he is bound to improve for the run. Diego hasn’t won a race over fences for more than four years, has been dropped 5lbs since his last race and his best form has been on drier ground than he is likely to find at Warwick.

16:40 – Jena d’Oudairies

She is another of our bumper team who showed plenty on her racecourse debut at Ludlow and has improved since then. She is a nice filly but I’m not convinced she wants testing conditions.

Best chance – Makin’yourmindup. He is going the right way over fences and has a solid chance against five rivals.
