Pauline Hanson suffers MAJOR blow in NSW – as the last remaining One Nation member resigns

Pauline Hanson has lost the last member of One Nation in NSW, as Tania Mihailuk resigns over claims she was kept in the dark about party funding.

The former Bankstown mayor was the last remaining member of Ms Hanson’s party in the state.

‘After much careful consideration, I have made the decision to end my membership of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation,’ Ms Mihailuk said in a statement on Friday.

‘In NSW, the Electoral Commission issues administrative funding to eligible parties and elected Independents. 

‘Members of parliament owe a duty to their constituencies to be confident that such funds are administered transparently, and in keeping with the NSW Electoral Commission’s legislative requirements.

‘Despite being the NSW Leader and the only PHON MP in NSW, I feel I can’t continue to be the public face and representative of the party in NSW when I’m not informed fully about the administrative arrangements of the Party within the state of NSW.’ 

Ms Mihailuk added that her values ‘have not changed’ and she would sit on the right wing crossbench as a conservative Independent MLC.

She was appointed to the NSW Legislative Council last year after the resignation of former NSW One Nation leader Mark Latham.

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party kept Ms Mihailuk in the dark about administrative funding, she claimed

In 2022 she was sacked from the NSW Labor Party after she used parliamentary privilege to air her concerns about recently selected candidate Khal Asfour.

She alleged Mr Asfour had property links with disgraced NSW Labor powerbroker Eddie Obeid, a charge he denied. 

Mr Asfour shot back, during a parliamentary inquiry investigating allegations of poor conduct in his office, by accusing Ms Mihailuk of using ratepayer funds to buy slabs of beer, vodka, Chinese meals and chicken nuggets.

Mr Asfour sensationally withdrew from Labor’s NSW Upper House ticket before March 2023’s state election, and later stepped down from the Canterbury-Bankstown mayoralty.
