Penelope Cruz looks elegant in a sequined black dress as her film Parallel Mothers closes out the New York Film Festival
Penélope Cruz made a triumphant return to the New York Film Festival on Friday to close out the festival with her acclaimed new film Parallel Mothers.
The 47-year-old Oscar winner looked effortlessly elegant in a short black dress covered with sequins as she walked the red carpet at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.
The screening was also attended by Tilda Swinton, 60, who previously collaborated with Parallel Mothers’ director Pedro Almodóvar on his 2020 short film The Human Voice.

Penélope’s gorgeous dress hugged her curves and accentuated her hourglass figure with a sparkling core decorated with black sequins.
The look also had a sheer layer underneath that reached from her collar down past her skirt and was decorated with flower-like masses of black sequins.
The 5ft6in beauty elevated her stature with a tasteful pair of black open-toe heels, and she accessorized with a silver bracelet featuring a diamond-studded star.
She completed her stunning look by styling her brunette tresses in a bump and swiping her hair to the side of her face.
Seemingly missing from the red carpet was Penélope’s husband Javier Bardem, who was seen in New York City earlier this week filming Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile.

The film currently has an impressive 100 percent fresh rating from critics surveyed by Rotten Tomatoes, and it received a staggering nine-minute standing ovation when it premiered at The Venice Film Festival, according to Deadline.
Parallel Mothers is the latest in a long list of collaborations between Penélope and the legendary Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar.
Also lighting up the red carpet was his latest leading lady, Tilda Swinton, who looked chic in a satin navy blue dress with long puffy sleeves and buttons running up her chest.
