Penrith Panthers legend Lou Zivanovic, 61, buys a $12million waterfront estate in Woolwich after his $1million wedding in the Whitsundays

NRL great-turned-property developer Lou Zivanovic recently married wife Olivia Milazzo in a lavish $1million wedding in the Whitsundays.

And the 61-year-old has now bought a $12million estate in Woolwich, on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, which he hopes to make their ‘matrimonial home’.

The waterfront Federation home, known as St Brelades, has its own swimming pool and boathouse and jetty, reports Domain.

Home, sweet home: NRL legend Lou Zivanovic has just bought a $12million estate in Woolwich, which he hopes to make into a ‘matrimonial home’ for himself and new wife Olivia Milazzo

Zivanovic also owns a $5.2million home in Turramurra, on the Upper North Shore.

According to The Real Estate Conversation, St Brelades has three levels, blends the Federation style with more recent renovations, and boasts five bedrooms.

There are whitewashed walls throughout, high ceilings, dark hardwood floors, pops of sandstone, and water views from various rooms.

Lou spent $1million on an extravagant three-day wedding to wife Olivia in the Whitsundays in May, five years after 18 of his construction companies went bankrupt.

The former Penrith Panthers player hosted 100 guests at the InterContinental Hayman Island Resort as he said ‘I do’ to his longtime partner.

The ceremony welcomed a number of famous faces, including retired professional boxer Jeff Fenech, Panthers legend Greg Alexander, Penrith’s last premiership captain Craig Gower, and former South Sydney football manager Shane Richardson.

The 100 wedding guests were put up at the $1,500-a-night luxury hotel for free, and Anthony Callea sang at the reception.

The lavish celebrations mark a serious change in fortune after the former NRL star found himself owing creditors $26.8million in 2016.

He was banned from managing a corporation for three years following the collapse of the 18 building and construction companies under his operation.

He was disqualified from managing corporations up until just two years ago – in February 2019.

Zivanovic claimed in 2018 the problems stemmed from the financial crisis.

‘The last four years, everything has been rock solid,’ he said.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) said creditors were not paid debts that totalled $26.8million.

But he alleged that $24.5million of the total was owed to him because of inter-company loans while the rest was indebted to the Australian Tax Office.

His wedding marked the fifth time he found himself standing at the aisle, according to his ex-wife Michelle.
