Penthouse pet reveals NRL players ‘bond over group sex’

Former Penthouse Pet Belinda Medlyn has blown the lid off the NRL’s culture of bonding over group sex.

The 35-year-old ex-stripper says players have become adept at sneaking past coaches and avoiding their partners in order to have ‘gangas’.

She says players have honed strategies for sneaking women into their hotel rooms and avoiding rules put in place by team management.

‘It’s so easily arranged and happens every time they’re in Sydney playing, it’s like school camp for them, a way of team bonding,’ she told The Daily Telegraph.

‘There’s so much testosterone, the players need to release their pent-up energy and develop tactics to get round banned sex.’

‘It’s about power, fast cash, fit bodies and getting any woman they like,’ she told The Daily Telegraph.

‘They don’t want to let down the team.’

The NRL is responding to the team bonding rituals with research and efforts to combat current attitudes to women,The Daily Telegraph reported.

NRL gender adviser Catherine Lumby said the terms used by some players to refer to the women they share are ‘distressing’ and warns of the dangers of group sex.

‘When group sex happens, where you have strong powerful men, a consensual activity can quickly devolve into an abusive male bonding exercise,’ she said.

Another stripper, who claims she slept with two different Bulldogs players in one night, says players have codes they use when asking for sex sessions.

‘People ask why women do it? We get a thrill out of it too,’ she said.

Screenshots of the messages show her declining that offer, but it came after a previous foursome she had with Thompson, a friend and two of his fellow players.

She said he then sneaked her into his room at the Pullman Hotel by slipping her his key before a game.

They then had sex in his hotel room while a teammate watched and conceived their child Hendrix, now 15 months old.

The two are now embroiled in a spat over child support payments, which Ms Medlyn claims have been late.

Thompson’s lawyer Daniel McGirr said his client does not owe Ms Medlyn any money.

Warriors chief executive Cameron George said Thompson’s lawyer had confirmed the star player had been making the payment.

Mr George also confirmed Thompson violated team rules.

‘He [Thompson] has breached team protocol which had been dealt with,’ he said.

The NRL said in August it was taking action to change how players treat women by introducing a set of new protocols at the beginning of the 2018 season.
