Pep Guardiola will not be leaving Manchester City for Juventus this summer

Pep Guardiola has insisted he will not be leaving Manchester City to become Juventus manager this summer.

The Italian giants announced on Friday that Massimiliano Allegri will leave at the end of the season.

The 51-year-old Italian coach has won five Serie A titles and the Coppa Italia four times during his five years in charge of the Turin-based side, as well as finishing runners-up in the Champions League in 2015 and 2017.

Guardiola strongly denied rumours linking him with Juve earlier in the season and he was again dismissive when asked about the Turin club before Saturday’s FA Cup final.

He said: ‘I’m not going to Juventus or to Italy. I have two more years here.

‘I’m not going to move, I’m satisfied here, I’m not going anywhere. Next season I will be manager of Manchester City.’ 

Allegri was widely expected to leave despite leading the Old Lady to their eighth consecutive league title with six games to spare.

Mauricio Pochettino is among the favourites to replace Allegri at the Allianz Stadium

Antonio Conte is among those who could replace Allegri with Mauricio Pochettino the favourite to take over at the Allianz Stadium.

Italian media reported that the club had made contact with the Tottenham boss last week, with the Argentine coach reportedly demanding an enormous £17million-per-year contract, according to last Saturday’s Corriere dello Sport. 

Pochettino himself has made it clear that he is seriously considering leaving Tottenham at the end of the campaign if they don’t attempt to build on their first major European Cup final appearance.
