Liverpool are competing against Burnley on Monday, so it comes as little surprise that footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was keen to get an early night.
But even though the 24-year-old was forced to leave his stunning girlfriend, Little Mix star Perrie Edwards, also 24, to ring in the New Year on her own, she was full of praise for her man.
Posting a very sweet picture of them both, which was taken earlier on in the night, Perrie wrote that she was proud of his ‘professionalism.’

Yet this week they have been eagerly making preparations for the festive season together.

Not fazed by the change, however, Perrie has insisted she is ‘very proud’ of her boyfriend.
She told The Mirror: ‘I don’t think it will be difficult. It’s going to be different – but that’s not a problem. We’ll be fine. I’m just really happy for him and very proud.’
