Perth fashion influencer reveals how a nightmare plane flight triggered her bizarre phobia: ‘It smelled so bad I was literally crying’

Perth fashion influencer Jacquie Alexander has opened up about the nightmare flight that left her in tears and gasping for air.

The 31-year-old revealed how a recent trip turned ugly when her plane had to abort a landing due to high winds.

After turbulence made a child seated nearby sick, Alexander found herself fighting her own Emetophobia, a phobia of vomiting and seeing others vomit.

Posting a video to her Instagram stories, the entrepreneur can be seen squirming in her seat, holding her nose and gulping for air.

‘First time experiencing a failed landing attempt and I was spiralling,’ she began in the caption.

‘Then if it couldn’t get worse, the child behind me was vomiting nonstop because of the turbulence.

‘It smelt so bad I was literally crying, my Emetophobia was screaming.’

Alexander also praised the flight crew in her post.

‘Honestly that experience made me realise what a plane can do, we were literally about to touch down and went right back up no issue!’ she continued.

‘So if anything to take from this is how impressive these aircraft are and how capable the pilots are to deal with everything.’

Alexander runs her own fashion brand called In My Moods, which she co-owns with her hockey player boyfriend Nathan Ephraum.

Her latest post comes months after she was slammed for being ’embarrassing’ and ‘giving all Aussies a bad name’ on the London Underground in September.

During a holiday in the English capital, Jacquie shared a video of herself whipping her hair around and lip-syncing to the viral song ‘Prada’ by CASSO, D-Block Europe, and Ray.

The short clip showed the digital creator dancing around a crowded underground train and attracting annoyed glares from fellow passengers.

‘I’m in my I don’t give a f**k era,’ she captioned the video, unbothered by how her activities inconvenienced other people. ‘The confidence this gives me is unmatched.’

Alexander soon admitted that she was ‘shaking’ with anxiety immediately after she stopped filming – but that didn’t deter the thousands who criticised her for the ‘obnoxious’ behaviour.

Many called her self-centred and asked her never to do something similar again.

‘This generation’s narcissism is out of this world. Stop,’ a woman wrote.

‘This is so embarrassing and narcissistic,’ another echoed.

‘Just stop trying to be the main character,’ a third said. ‘This is so cringe.’
