An elderly grandfather who was knocked unconscious and savagely beaten by a stranger has begged for his attacker to hand himself in to police.

Graham, 71, was eating breakfast when he spotted a ute circling laps on his street in Oaken, Western Australia.

The man, who is still traumatised by the attack and too afraid to reveal his identity, stopped eating and stepped outside to investigate when he was attacked.

Graham, 71, a grandfather appeared bruised and battered in images released to the media

He said the driver of the ute, a bald Anglo man, jumped over his fence and asked for help finding a man called Toby.

‘The man said he was looking for Toby then squirted something in my eyes – that’s the last I remember,’ Graham said.

‘I would like to find out why he did it, I don’t know if there’s anything you can say to someone like that, he said.

‘You know, to kick someone, keep kicking them when they are already down.’

His wife was also attacked as she tried to step in to break up the senseless beating.

An image of the alleged attacker and his suspected car has been released to the public as the police appeal for help finding the man responsible.
