A teen who was riding scooters with a girl accused of viciously pulling a pregnant mother to the ground by her hair as she was pushing her two kids in the pram appears to have left a very obvious clue for police outside her house.

There were grave fears for the health of the pregnant mum after she was pounced on by the 15-year-old girl, with CCTV from a neighbour showing the moment the teen launched at the woman as she took her two small children for a stroll in their pram.

The 37-year-old mum was walking down a Perth laneway in Smallman Place, Ashfield, at 12.40pm on Monday when a teen, riding a scooter, approached her from behind.

It didn’t take long for WA Police to find the teen alleged to have committed the attack, filming the moment a group of officers arrived at the house to arrest her.

Outside the front of the house, the girl riding with the teenager accused of the attack appears to have left the same scooter she was riding leaning against the car port.

The footage of the teen’s arrest showed her swearing at officers, screaming and crying while other household members cry out in the background.

Sickening CCTV footage showed the girl yanking the woman, who is five months pregnant, to the ground by her hair – before pulling her along the concrete away from her children.

The mother had tried desperately to hold onto her pram, which toppled over as she was slammed onto the path, leaving her young twins screaming in terror and kicking their legs in the air.

Police expressed fears for the expectant mother’s health after she fell on her stomach during the attack, and urged her to see a doctor immediately.

She suffered minor cuts and bruises but because of her pregnancy fall, was advised to get medical help.

The footage released by WA Police sparked a wave of outrage on social media with many shocked at the violence and others concerned for the welfare of the mother and children.

The twins were left dangling on their backs in their upturned pram while their mother tried to fight off her attacker, who was raining down blows on the mum’s head.

‘I hope they are ok… thank goodness the mother strapped the children in the pram properly… they would’ve been so scared,’ one person said.

‘That poor mother and her toddlers must be traumatised, I hope they’re ok including the unborn baby. It’s absolutely shocking,’ another said.

The girl was charged with one count of robbery and is set to appear in Geraldton Magistrates Court on September 13.

Investigators released the CCTV footage of the attack to help piece together what happened and asked that anyone with relevant information contact contact police.

Video before the attack showed a teenager riding a scooter down the laneway behind another young girl.

Police confirmed a second girl was also arrested as part of the early investigation but was not charged in relation to the attack.

Neighbours told The West Australian they were ‘disgusted’ by the brutal daylight assault, with some other local mothers now too afraid to leave their homes.

‘How does someone of that age have the audacity to do that…an adult with a pram, it’s disgusting,’ one neighbour said.

‘I’ve never witnessed or heard of any violence of that level here.’

Another added: ‘I’m a mother of young boy and I walk that same street, it makes me not want to walk around there anymore.’
