And Pete Evans raised eyebrows once again when he promoted a designer-made toilet ‘squatting stool’ brand in a bizarre Instagram post this Saturday. 

While much of Pete’s social media is dedicated to advocating the Paleo diet, he decided to depart from his usual theme by sharing a product photo of the unusual bathroom device.

‘Stoked to see these Aussie designed bamboo squatting stools for the toilet in the market for just $49. We have been using these at home for the last few years and love it,’ he gushed in the caption.

Pete received mixed responses in the comments section of his post, with some questioning why the chef had decided to dedicate his Instagram account to a bathroom aide.

Earlier this week, Pete sparked controversy with his latest health theory, which purports that eating three meals a day is unhealthy. 

The advice was criticised by Sydney obesity expert Dr Nick Fuller, who took a swipe at celebrity diets in a Daily Telegraph Facebook live interview.

‘There is no good evidence to show that we should be having less than three meals a day. This is a new fad that’s been attached to this program and it shouldn’t be followed,’ he continued. 

Dr Fuller then took aim at the paleo diet, which is based around a diet of meat and plant foods.
