Pete Wicks has revealed that he is finally ready to settle down after a string of failed relationships.
The TOWIE star, 32, reflected on his love life on FUBAR Radio’s The Dating Show on Friday, claiming that he’s only ever had ‘one proper relationship’.
Pete’s previous girlfriends include Megan McKenna, Shelby Tribble and more recently Chloe Sims with the explosive relationships and splits being documented on The Only Way Is Essex.
Settling down? Pete Wicks has revealed that he is finally ready to settle down after a string of failed relationships
Co-host Cici Coleman asked Pete if he thought he was ready to settle now, as the pair were joined by guest Sinitta.
Pete said: ‘I don’t know. I think if I met the right person, I would be yeah, but I think it’s all about the person.
‘It’s all about the person and whether or not you’re willing to compromise a single life to share your life with someone else.
‘I think if that person makes you happy and benefits your life in a way where you can’t imagine them not being in it then of course, a hundred percent that makes you ready to do it.’

He admitted that being single is a good opportunity to ‘work on yourself’ which will help you get to ‘know yourself better as a person.
Pete continued: ‘But I think it’s a lot about working on yourself and being single is a really good opportunity to work on yourself and the flaws that we all have and that everyone has.
‘Being single gives you an opportunity to be alone and learn more about yourself. And that way, the more you learn about yourself, the more you can offer to someone else because you know yourself as a person better.’
Elsewhere during the radio show, the TV star said that people put ‘pressure on themselves to not be single’ but said he’d rather be single than in an ‘unhappy relationship’.
He said: ‘People put pressure on themselves to not be single and don’t actually enjoy being single, if that makes sense.
‘I think that’s the hardest thing and it’s definitely an age thing. I think when you’re younger being single is great and everyone wants to be single and they don’t want to get tied down.
‘Then as soon as you get to thirty, people automatically, suddenly want to do that.
‘Despite the fact that they might not be ready to do that, despite the fact that it may not actually be what they want, it’s what other people want and it’s what they think society wants them to do.’
Friends with benefits: More recently, it was revealed that Pete had secretly been seeing his co-star and close friend Chloe Sims for two years with the dramatic revelation played out on TOWIE though it has since ended (pictured in 2019)
He added: ‘And I think people then end up in relationships, settling for something because they feel like that’s what they should be doing at that point in their life.
‘But yeah, so I don’t mind being single. I would rather be single than be in an unhappy relationship.’
Despite being linked to a series of girls, Pete admitted he had been single ‘most’ of his life but had a lot of ‘situationships’.
One of his previous famous relationships include Megan McKenna who he started dating in 2016 but explosively split from in 2017.
Their rocky romance was documented on TOWIE and they called it quits when Megan discovered that he had been sexting his ex Jacqui Ryland.
They briefly got back together while Megan was pursuing her musical ambitions in Nashville, but it sadly wasn’t meant to be.
However, the pair managed to quash any animosity after they both signed up to Celebs Go Dating in 2019.
Cici asked: ‘Is “single”, single, like no one else for you or is “single” for you, I’m not in a relationship but I’m having sexual partners?’
To which Pete replied: ‘It’s a tough one really because I’ve been single most of my life. I’ve only really, I would say had one proper relationship and then lots of situationships and other things.

‘And I don’t mind being single because I would rather be single than be in a relationship that I wasn’t fully in.
‘But being single, I think is one of them things that, again, we mentioned it like another word last week, selfish, has got a bit of a negative connotation and people seem to use being single as a negative thing.
‘Especially when you get to 30 plus, everyone moans about being single after thirty. “Why haven’t I found the one, why am I still single? Why am I this? Why am I that?”. And I don’t see why it is a bad thing, as long as you’re happy.’
The reality star has also been romantically linked with Shelby Tribble but their whirlwind romance ended in September 2019.
Shelby and Pete split after she discovered he had sent ‘disgusting’ messages to other girls and even ‘used her’ before their explosive break-up.
More recently, it was revealed that Pete had secretly been seeing his co-star and close friend Chloe Sims for two years with the dramatic revelation played out on TOWIE.
Their relationship has been rocky in recent months after the Celebs Go Dating star admitted that they had ‘blurred the lines’ between friendship and something more.
During their romance, the blonde had a fling with ex Dan Edgar, 30, which she’s since claimed was ‘revenge’.
In December, it was claimed that Chloe is said to devastated after pulling the plug on her ‘friends with benefits’ romance with Pete.
