Peter Andre reveals he had a naked sauna with the Backstreet Boys while on tour in Germany

Peter Andre has revealed he once shared a naked sauna with the Backstreet Boys whilst on tour with them in Germany.

Opening up on his popstar heyday, the 50-year-old Australian singer admitted that though they ‘weren’t too keen on it’, they just ‘looked at each other giggling’.

The star rose to fame in the nineties with a string of chart hits such as All About Us, Lonely and All Night, All Right – which featured R&B legends Warren G and Coolio.

And taking his young talents across the world, Peter was handed the opportunity to tour with one of the biggest boybands ever.

The Backstreet Boys – composed of members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson – rose to fame in 1993 and went on to sell over 100million records worldwide.

Speaking to The Times, he explained: ‘I toured with the Backstreet Boys for a year, and we would play basketball in the afternoons then hang out in the best restaurants and nightclubs after the shows, but one time we decided to visit a steam room and sauna in Germany.

‘We turned up in our towels and soon realised that everyone else was naked, which we weren’t too keen on.

‘It was a mixed sauna too, so we were just sitting there surrounded by all these naked men and women. We all just looked at each other giggling.’

Peter first rose to fame in 1989, when at 16 years old he became a contestant on an Australian talent show called New Faces.

As a result, he was offered a recording contract.

Peter was then sent to the UK where he recorded his debut single Drive Me Crazy, and his breakthrough hit, Gimme Little Sign.

After a brief dip in popularity, Peter went on to build a reality TV career with his first wife, Katie Price after they got together on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

It comes after a throwback clip of Peter Andre has resurfaced showing him flirting with Judy Finnigan as she co-interviewed the hunky young star alongside her husband Richard Madeley.

The singer, then 23, called the presenter, then 48, ‘a dish’, which is Australian slang for good-looking, as he looked back on his first ever interview with This Morning.

Speaking to the show’s current hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, Peter looked back on his 30 years within the industry and kicked off with the clip from back in 1996.

In the video, Richard says: ‘Peter Andre, he’s a number three with a hit single, Mysterious Girl.

Everything seems to be going for the Australian singer, but he really should be doing something about that beer belly.’

It then cuts to Peter’s music video for the hit single, which was filmed in Queensland, Australia.

During the interview sat on the sofa ready to speak to presenting couple Richard Madeley and his wife Judy Finnigan, Peter looked youthful as he spoke about the filming of his latest song.

Judy asked him: ‘For that video, presumably you had to be in for some kind of training, you know you must have to work out a tremendous amount to get an abdomen like that!’

Judy was referring to the shots in the music video which shows Peter topless as he sings in front of the Millaa Milla Falls, with his chiseled physique hard not to be amazed at.

Laughing, Peter said: ‘Well thank you… and you must work out too?’

Peter’s performance was a perfect throwback clip to watch as he celebrated 30 years since launching his career in 1993.

Back to his appearance in the studio on Friday afternoon, Dermot says: ‘I love the flirting there with the Finnegan there!’

Alison agrees: ‘I know!’ and Dermot adds: ‘Back in the day, Andre!’

Peter then confirms it: ‘Well… she was a dish mate, she was a dish!

‘Do you know, it’s mad just from that clip of me, it literally reminded me of Junior.’
