‘She’s suffering and declining’: Peter Andre says it’s hard to watch his mother’s health struggles as ‘old age takes its toll’ at 86

Peter Andre has admitted he is finding it hard to watch his elderly mother ‘suffering and declining’ as old age takes its toll.

The singer, 49, said he is ‘sad’ to see his mum Thea, 86, ‘struggling’ as she gets older now her health has started to decline.

The TV personality explained he is hoping to spend ‘as much time as possible’ with his mother and father Savvas, 89, and savour every moment with his relatives.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker recently holidayed with his parents in Cyprus and has previously travelled to Australia to spend time with them.

He explained in his new! magazine column: ‘My parents celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary last week. 67 years! It’s pretty amazing. Dad’s going to be 90 next year and mum’s 86.

‘Mum’s struggling at the moment, though. She’s not doing great. She’s suffering a bit and declining. It’s sad when they’ve been together so long that age is getting on top of them.

‘I was with her a few months ago. We’ve just got to be with her as much as possible. It’s just age. She’s got all sorts of things going on now.’

Taking to his Instagram account last week, Peter said he was ‘sad that age is taking its toll’ on his parents as he shared a sweet snap of himself with them.

He penned: ‘Happy 67th wedding anniversary mum and dad. Love you both with every bit of my heart. I feel happy and sad posting this.

‘Happy of course that they have achieved 67years of marriage together but sad that age is taking its toll and mum especially is really struggling.

‘I always pray for your health, both of you. I also pray that I can be even half the parent to my children that you both are to me.’

Peter lives with his children Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, from his first marriage to Katie Price and with wife Emily, and their kids Amelia, eight, and Theo, five.

Last month, the pop star celebrated 30 years in the showbusiness industry and was presented with a cake on This Morning to mark the milestone.

The cake featured a shirtless model of Peter on top of it, channelling his Mysterious Girl music video as the ripped model looked like he was dancing in water.

After being gifted with the cake, Peter couldn’t help but comment on the fondant version of himself, saying: ‘That is amazing! Look at those abs!’

When asked by hosts Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle if he still had his famous abs, Peter joked that they were ‘hibernating’

‘They’re hibernating, they’re there. They’re still kind of there,’ Peter said of his six-pack.

Josie and Craig then asked if they could feel his stomach to see if his abs were still there.

After hilariously feeling Peter’s abs, Josie then declared: ‘I can confirm they’re still there, they’re still there!’
