Peter Holmes à Court’s son Tim marries heiress Amanda Valmorbida

Tim Holmes à Court has walked down the aisle with Amanda Valmorbida at a lavish wedding ceremony. 

The society couple married on Friday night at St Patrick’s Cathedral in East Melbourne. 

The bride stunned in a traditional wedding gown with a strapless neckline and a thigh-high split.

She wore her blonde hair down around her face and carried a bouquet of white flowers. 

The groom meanwhile looked dapper in a black tuxedo with a bowtie and rose pinned to his lapel. 

After exchanging vows in the chapel, the couple jumped into a vintage car adorned with flowers and a ‘just married’ sign on the back.

Reception: They went on to party with friends and family at the Valmorbida family’s Toorak mansion. Family and friends travelled from Sydney and overseas, to attend the wedding

The private pair have been together for around a decade, and became engaged in 2020.   

They had previously postponed their wedding multiple times due to Covid lockdowns.

Tim is the son of Peter Holmes à Court, and his grandfather, Peter’s dad, was Robert Holmes à Court, who died in 1990. 

Robert was Australia’s first billionaire, and his wife, Tim’s grandmother, Janet, 78, one of the country’s richest women.   

Peter, who is the couple’s oldest son, was the joint owner of the South Sydney Rabbitohs along with Russell Crowe between 2006 and 2014.

Amanda Valmorbida’s family made their fortune as wholesalers for the La Gina and Sirena tinned food brands in the 1970s, as well as importing the ubiquitous Lavazza coffee brand.

The bride’s father John Valmorbida told Page 13 this week that he was delighted by the pairing. 

‘She’s my baby girl and I can’t wait for it. He is a lovely boy, too, and we are all looking forward to it,’ he said. 

‘We never thought it would happen, but we are on. We are celebrating because people are able to get together, but also my little girl.’
