Philadelphia Eagles give huge update on Jalen Hurts’ status ahead of Wild Card playoff game

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has cleared concussion protocol and will start the team’s Wild Card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon.

Hurts’ clean bill of health was revealed by Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni on Friday, with him out of action since Philadelphia’s December 22 loss to the Washington Commanders.

During the first quarter of that bitter NFC East showdown, Hurts took a hard hit to the turf and had not appeared in a game since.

Kenny Pickett has been starting in Hurts’ place, with the Eagles not losing a game where the former Pittsburgh quarterback played all four quarters.

The team no doubt gets a boost with Hurts back in the fold with his dual-threat ability.

The Eagles are the No 2 seed in the NFC after finishing the regular season 14-3.

Should Philadelphia defeat Green Bay, it would be guaranteed a home game in the Divisional round.

The Eagles crashed out of the playoffs last year in the Wild Card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During the 2022 season, Philadelphia won the NFC with Hurts as its signal caller before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Hurts would not get the chance to avenge the loss to the Commanders until the NFC Championship, if not until next season due to seeding.

Should the Eagles knock off the Packers, a Washington victory would guarantee it a trip to Detroit for the Divisional round as the lowest seed remaining in the NFC.
