Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper appeared to stare down Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia after smashing a three-run homer into the second tier of Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night.

Harper hit the long ball during the third inning of the Phillies 10-2 win in Game 3 of the National League Division Series, when the apparent stare down happened as he jogged around second base.

The look Harper seemed to give Arcia was likely a response to the shot Arcia took at him after Game 2 of the series.

A baserunning blunder from Harper led to him being thrown out in a double play that ended the game and resulted in Atlanta tying the series with a 5-4 win.

While celebrating the win in Atlanta’s locker room, Arcia was heard yelling ‘ha-ha, atta-boy, Harper!’ multiple times as reporters stood nearby.

‘If that adds to his motivation,’ Phillies manager Rob Thomson said ahead of Game 3, ‘then thank you.’

Harper ended the game with two homeruns and four RBIs after also hitting a solo homerun to center field in the fifth inning.

The first of Harper’s homers came off Braves starting pitcher Brade Elder, while the second came off relief pitcher Brad Hand.

Nick Castellanos homered twice as Philadelphia rebounded from its disappointing loss at Atlanta on Monday night. Trea Turner and Brandon Marsh also went deep.

Aaron Nola (2-0) and four relievers combined to push the 104-win Braves to the brink of elimination. The Phillies can advance to the NL Championship Series for the second straight season with a win at home Thursday.
