Phillip Schofield confirms the death of his ‘beautiful and dignified’ mother Pat after ‘holding, hugging and loving her’ during her final days: ‘I will forever be proud and privileged that she was my mum’

Phillip Schofield has confirmed the death of his mother Pat, weeks after returning to mainstream television with a new Channel 5 show. 

The former This Morning presenter confirmed Pat’s passing on Monday evening, revealing he had been with her during her final days. 

Her death comes sixteen years after Schofield’s father Brian passed away aged 72 in 2008 after suffering a heart attack. 

Taking to Instagram, he wrote: ‘Today, at 3pm and after a heartbreaking weekend, my magnificent mum decided to go to her beloved Brian.’
