The reunion comes after Phil revealed in January that his mum was among the lucky few who had already been double vaccinated at the start of the year.

Speaking on an episode of This Morning, Phil told his co-host Holly Willoughby: ‘Mum was very lucky actually, she’s not a billionaire, she’s just down in Cornwall.

‘She just happened to be on the list and they called her back, I think maybe towards the end of the period they might have some left over or whatever, and she got her second vaccine.’

Despite Pat being double vaccinated in January, the pair still waited for lockdown restrictions to ease before reuniting.

In June, Phillip took to Instagram to share a sweet throwback post of him and Pat together and sweetly wrote: “Miss ya mum!” beside the snap.

The presenter looked sharp in a crisp white shirt, while his mother wore an elegant champagne coloured blouse and a pretty silver necklace.

Phillip spent lockdown at his family home in Oxfordshire with his wife Stephanie Lowe, 56, and their daughters Molly, 27, and Ruby, 24 while Pat was in Cornwall.

Last year, Phillip’s mother told of her shock at finding out her son was gay, but praised his ‘inspiring’ bravery for revealing the news on TV.

She spoke out for the first time shortly after her son came out to the nation, after revealing the ‘dark times’ he has faced.

He revealed he had travelled down to Cornwall to come out to his mother before his TV announcement and praised her ‘instant acceptance’.

Pat revealed how the news did come as a shock, but that she ‘couldn’t be more proud’ of her son’s actions.
