It is thought the woman was trying to get her battery replaced, most likely because her handset kept running out of juice.

But fire suddenly gushes from the base of the phone, spraying in his direction, as the lithium-ion polymer battery sets alight.
It is thought he poked a hole in the battery during the repair, causing it to leak.

The customer – who was craning her neck over the counter – darts backwards.
