The TV personality recently revealed that daddy-to-be Frank ‘really can’t wait’ for the baby’s arrival, while his daughters – Luna, 12, and Isla, 10 – are ‘beside themselves’.

‘I’m trying to do all the right things,’ she said on Lorraine. ‘Like any first-time mum, there’s a list of whole things I didn’t know.

On the first weeks of pregnancy, she added: ‘I wasn’t terribly sick, a little nausea but I feel good. I’ve tried to be good, I’m walking everywhere.’

She went on to say: ‘It’s lovely, we are very excited. It’s the first grandchild for my parents, my sister will be an auntie for the first time.

‘And the girls, they are completely beside themselves, more than I thought… They are desperate for a girl.’

Regarding Frank, she added: ‘He can’t wait. He’s very excited daddy-to-be and because the girls are there as well. We’re a unit and we’re all in this together. We feel very grateful.’

Christine also revealed that she has kept the news to herself for some time, owing to her ‘anxiety, nerves and superstition.’

‘I wanted to go for the big scan and everything,’ she admitted.

‘I was really tentative before I announced it. We know that can happen at any stage but so far so good.’

Clearly in shock, she admitted she took ‘5 or 6’ pregnancy tests to be sure that it was ‘real’ and says that while her bump is only ‘little’ she gets bigger as the day goes on.

Meanwhile, Christine has been busy detailing with a stalker, who is facing jail time after sending her ‘very nasty’ tweets.

Christof King, 39, of Mowbray Road, Brent, in north west London, pleaded guilty to stalking, but he disputed the sending of the tweets.

King, who wanted career advice from Lampard, sent tweets and letters and turned up at her house on more than one occasion, causing her to hide in a bedroom with the housekeeper.

After a Newton hearing on the matter of the tweets, Judge Robin Johnson ruled on Tuesday at Isleworth Crown Court last month that indeed send tweets to Lampard.

The judge said he would consider Lampard’s assessment of the tweets – which she described as ‘dark’ – an understatement.

One tweet he is alleged to have sent said: ‘I can hear the scratch of nails as I sharpen them ahead of your crucifixion.’

The court heard another tweet read: ‘I am planning the words that will go on your gravestone.’
