Marilyn Manson is ‘recovering well’ in a New York hospital after a huge pistol-shaped stage prop fell onto him while performing at a concert Saturday night.
The 48-year-old was photographed on a stretcher and appeared to be in pain before being put into an ambulance after the shocking incident happened while he was singing Sweet Dreams at the Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom.
He had just begun climbing on to the props in the middle of his performance when they began to give way and ‘toppled’ on top of him, witnesses said.
Several people rushed on to the stage but it took a number of minutes before Manson was rescued.
A spokesman for Manson confirmed the singer was hurt and was being treated at a local hospital, to BlabberMouth.net.
Tyler Bates, his bandmate and producer, said in an Instagram post on Sunday that ‘Manson will be back in action soon.’
He wrote: ‘Well, the Marilyn Manson ‘Heaven Upside Down’ tour is on pause for a minute. Heading home. Manson will be back in action soon. ‘Heaven Upside Down’ is released October 6th, with an insane video to stoke the fire. See you soon!’
The extent of Manson’s injuries are unknown at this time.

The accident comes just a week after Manson said controversially that the Columbine shooting ‘ruined’ his career. The teenage gunmen responsible for the shooting were reported to be fans of the star.
As expected after Saturday night’s incident, the rest of the concert was canceled.
Concert-goer Michelle Curran told DailyMail.com that the entire Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom, where the show was being held, went dark after the props fell.
‘He was probably half way through singing sweet dreams by the Eurythmics and the massive gun display of two pistols behind him toppled on to him.
‘The singing stopped and loads of people ran on to the stage to lift to it up.’
He had been onstage for an hour and 20 minutes when the accident occurred.
Immediately after the incident, the concert venue went dark and the music stopped.
The audience watched in horror as what appeared to be a team of crew tried to break him out from under the prop.
He was then wheeled off in a stretcher.
Fans said they then watched as a curtain was put up where the incident had taken place.

Manson was in the middle of promoting his new album, Heaven Upside Down.
Last week, in an interview to promote the record, he told The Guardian that his career had suffered since the 1999 Columbine school shooting, when two teenage gunmen stormed Columbine High School in Colorado.
They killed 13 people and injured 24 before taking their lives.
The boys, who were both 18 at the time, were said to have been fans of Manson.
Last week, he said: ‘Honestly, the Columbine era destroyed my entire career at the time.’
