Pierce Brosnan, 70, looks every inch the dapper dude as he enjoys a romantic bike ride with his doting wife Keely Shaye Smith, 60, in Malibu

Pierce Brosnan put on a loved-up display with his wife Keely Shaye Smith as they rode around Malibu together on Tuesday.

The James Bond star, 70, looked typically dapper in a casual black zip-up cardigan and black trousers, which he styled with a relaxed-fit T-shirt and black skater trainers.

He rode alongside his journalist wife, Keely, 60, who he tied the knot with in 2001, as they looked happier than ever.

The couple rode matching bicycles as they shielded away from the Californian sun in large black-out sunglasses.

Keely looked carefree as she sported a pair of khaki shorts and a casual grey T-shirt for the day trip.

She kept comfortable in a khaki zip-up jacket and completed her look with a pair of nude flip-flops.

Pierce and Keely have been married for 22 years after tying the knot at Ballintubber Abbey in Ireland in 2001.

The pair first met in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 1994, three years after Pierce’s first wife, Cassandra Harris, died in 1991.

He has previously said of Keely: ‘I found a great woman in Keely Shaye. Not if I searched a million times over would I find one as good.’

Pierce gifted Keely 60 roses in September and shared a sweet tribute to his wife as she marked her 60th birthday.

‘Sixty roses for my brown-eyed girl on her 60th birthday,’ Pierce began in his birthday post.

‘Forever happy and blessed was I to be sitting there when you walked around the corner early one morning in Cabo San Lucas,’ he added of their first meeting.

Pierce and Keely have two sons, Dylan, 26, and Paris, 22, the youngest of the actor’s five children.

The Mamma Mia! star also has a son Sean, 38, and an adopted son Chris, 49, as well as his late adopted daughter, Charlotte with Cassandra.

Pierce adopted Cassandra’s children, Chris and Charlotte, after their father, Dermot Harris, died in 1986.

Pierce is renowned for playing secret agent 007 in four of the James Bond films – Golden Eye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day.

The actor had his last outing as 007 in Die Another Day in 2002 and although he was eager to do a fifth film, producers decided they wanted to reboot the role to stay relevant in a post-9/11, post-Jason Bourne world.

He previously insisted he has ‘no regrets’ about how he left the franchise, when he was told he was being replaced over the phone.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2020, Pierce said: ‘There’s no regret. I do not let regret come into my world… It just leads to more misery and more regrets. Bond is the gift that keeps giving and has allowed me to have a wonderful career.

‘Once you’re branded as a Bond, it’s with you forever, so you better make peace with it and you’d better understand that when you walk through those doors and pick up the mantle of playing James Bond.’
